Haslemere Scottish Terriers

"YOSHI" came to Haslemere all the way from Tokyo, Japan!  He was bred by Rintaro and Emi Nakahara of Tokyo, and flew across the "pond" to the USA in September 2012 at just six months of age.  This exciting young dog is co-owned jointly with Carla LaCoe of Whiskybae Scotties and myself.  Yoshi made his show debut in the ring at the STCA National Specialty at Montgomery County in Philadelphia the first week of October.  At the Devon Dog Show there, he won the 6-9 Puppy Dog class and placed 3rd in the STCA National Sweepstakes.  He was the STCA National Specialty Best in Sweepstakes Winner in April 2013, and Winner's Dog and Best of Winners at the Great Western Terrier Assn. in June 2013.  During the STCA National Specialty weekend, he ws Winner's Dog and Best of Winners at Hatboro Dog Show I and repeated this win the following day at Devon, finishing his championship!  He is a very intelligent dog, and has several litters on the ground, and puppies in the ring.  As a stud dog, he is throwing his joyous tails-up show attitude, fabulous expression with level head planes and tiny well-placed ears, thick, hard jackets, well-built rears with superior movement and plenty of reach and drive, with short straight hocks, and good fronts with beautiful shoulder layback.  He also carries the wheaten gene.  We are pleased to salute Yoshi's mother, who was campaigned in 2012 to #1 Scottish Terrier bitch in Japan.  In Japanese, "Yoshi" means "Good" "Respectful" and "Love" which is depicted in the Japanese symbol for his name.  He is blazing a trail in the USA, and we look forward to his continued success in the ring and as a sire.

We are also happy to share that Yoshi has sired several nice litters beginning in Spring 2013 in a rainbow of colors: blacks, wheatens, and silver-brindles.  Watch for his colorful kids.  His son, GCHS. McVan's Flash Gordon has mutlitple Best in Shows, Group and Specialty wins and was No. 1 Scottie Male in the USA for 2016.  His oldest daughter, GCH. Whiskybae Haslemere Havannah, was awarded Winners Bitch & Best of Winners at the Scottish Terrier Club of America's National Specialty Show at Montgomery County in October 2014, and has gone on to quickly finish her championship and grand-championship, taking group placements in the process, all owner-handled.  His young daughter, Whiskybae Haslemere Habanera took her first 5-point major specialty win in Tampa Bay from the 6-9 Puppy Bitch class, and went on to win Best Puppy in Show at the prestigious AKC National Championship Show in Orlando, Florida in December 2016.  To date, Yoshi's champion children include:
